James Valley Sporting Clays was started in 1987 as a warm up for pheasant hunters before the hunt.
We were one of the original clay courses in the state, starting with 10 stations of hand throwers, growing to over 20 stations, and progressing to electric throwers and registered shoots. Several of our shooters liked it so much, they opened their own sporting clays courses, adopting many of James Valley Sporting Clays designs.
We have a clubhouse with a 60’ deck that can accommodate a large number of guests for corporate events, birthday parties, even bachelor parties! We have league team shooting from May – September, shooting several nights a week.
James Valley Sporting Clays is family owned and operated. Harold and Jan’s son Dennis has added valuable knowledge and assistance to the growth of the course. We have met so many people over the years, from Alaska to Florida, New York to California. Some have become dear friends. We give the personal touch. We ask our shooters what they like about us, and what we can do to change and improve, and we do it!
Our goal is to make each visit a memorable one, and have our shooters wondering what new targets will be set for the next shoot.
